Cheil Worldwide Seoul and BBDO Dubai lead Asian agencies in Cannes Lions 2023 shortlists for Innovation, Titanium, and Glass

MANILA, PHILIPPINES — As the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity nears, hopefuls around the world are waiting to see if their entries have made the cut in the world’s most prestigious creative awards. With less than two weeks away from the festival, which will be held from June 19 to 23, many entrants find themselves one step closer to that Lion as shortlist announcements start rolling out.

Cannes Lions has announced its first round of shortlists for the Innovation, Glass: The Lion for Change, and Titanium categories. Across the three categories, 10 of the shortlisted entries came from Asia-based agencies, spanning six countries: India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Lebanon, and UAE.

In the lead are South Korea-based agency Cheil Worldwide Seoul and UAE-based agency Impact BBDO Dubai with two shortlists each. Cheil Worldwide Seoul made it to Titanium and Glass: The Lion for Change shortlists with “Knock Knock” for the Korean National Police Agency. Meanwhile, Impact BBDO Dubai clinched the Glass: The Lion for Change shortlist with “Schoolgirl Newscasters” for EBM and “We Miss Lebanon” for LBCI.
