Hershey hands global media planning and buying duties to Universal McCann

GLOBAL – UNITED STATES, AUGUST 28, 2013 –The Hershey Company’s has selected Universal McCann to work on its global media planning and buying activities, following an eight-month account review process.

The global media assignment includes all paid media, including TV, print, digital and Hispanic for the company’s largest business in United States and its growing international businesses.

At the beginning of 2013, the company initiated the review as part of its governance policy of periodically assessing strategic supplier contracts to ensure effective and efficient service. This gave Hershey the chance to globally shift its integrated media planning and buying process to support its growth around the world.

All incumbent agencies were included in the selection based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the participating agencies, including capabilities in the U. S. and key international markets.

The account transition from incumbent agency OMD to Universal McCann will begin September 1, 2013.
