Tambuli Awards Conference 2010, “Social Media: Marketing to Teens and Tweens”

Today’s digital natives, young people born with a mobile phone on one hand and a computer on the other, seem to speak a different language because of the multiple literacies they grew up with. Effective integrated marketing communications (IMC) programs for this segment are becoming increasingly dependent on translating insights to the online worlds they inhabit.

As a prelude to the Tambuli Awards organized by the University of Asia & the Pacific (UA&P), the Tambuli Awards Conference 2010 center on “Social Media: Marketing to Teens and Tweens”. The conference brings together five marketing expert well-versed in social media: Shakir Moin, Marketing Director for Asia-Pacific of Coca-Cola Export Corporation; Nick Handel, Regional Director of Digital, Leo Burnett and Arc Worldwide; Lisa Ransom, Marketing Senior Director for Greater Asia, McDonald’s; Shawn Warren, Vice President for Marketing Asia-Pacific for Kraft Foods; and Margot Torres, Vice President for Marketing, Golden Arches Development Corporation. The conference will be held on July 13, 2010  at the UA&P campus in Ortigas Center.

The Tambuli Awards, formerly the biennial Integrated Marketing Communications Effectiveness Awards (IMCEA), is now an annual event. Since its christening as Tambuli, the awards and conference have become regional in scope. It is the first and still the only award-giving body that recognizes IMC campaigns for both their effectiveness as measured through profitability, and their promotion of values for the betterment of society.
