The fizz goes out between Micky Domingo and Blue Bottle

Blue Bottle, the small independent shop run by Mio Chongson, and its creative director Micky Domingo have parted ways.

Domingo announced, "We mutually decided to end my consultancy contract with them."

Chongson explained further, "Yes, it’s sad that we couldn’t renew Micky’s contract. My partner, Mildred Smith, has decided to be back on board as head of creatives even while she takes care of our US-based accounts as well.  We can’t afford just yet to have two super creatives in an agency our size. But as we love Micky, we would still get him on a per project basis if there’s an opportunity."

Domingo came on board  shortly after leaving McCann Erickson in 2007, where he was executive creative director for five years.

He added that the two years at Blue Bottle "was (and still is) a blessing to me. Working there made me realize that I still loved advertising. The simpler process was refreshing."

Smith, who is better known to Filipino admen as Mildred Cid, is an art-based creative director with 30 years experience in McCann Erickson, Ace Saatchi & Saatchi and Jimenez. She and Chongson first worked together in Jimenez on its P&G accounts.

Among Blue Bottle’s clients are Frisogrow, Bench and most recently, the Seafood City supermarket chain in the US.
