Coca-Cola unveiling crowning glory billboard

THE PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 30, 2012: Coca-Cola has unveiled three tansan (crown) billboard structures bearing a "Thank You" message in three major locations in the country as part of its continuing centennial celebrations.

Said to be the first of its kind on the world, the billboards were placed in North EDSA, Quezon City, Highway Seno in Cebu, and in Ulas Highway in Davao.

The soda brand’s latest billboard investment follows the unveiling of its first plant billboard in the Philippines. One for the record books, the  "Living” billboard was an eco-friendly outdoor platform created in cooperation with the World Wildlife Fund. It used potted plants arranged to show the silhouette of Coke’s distinctive  bottle.

“We have created these extraordinary Coca-Cola crown billboards because 2012 is a very special year for the Filipinos. It is the year Coca-Cola gives back and gives thanks for the last 100 years of choosing and believing in happiness. This is the reason why the beloved brand is still here, today. The billboards are a signal of the start of the biggest, yearlong celebration we’ve ever had in the Philippines yet and the whole nation is invited,” said Guillermo Aponte, president and general manager of Coca-Cola Philippines.

Coca-Cola aims to highlight their role as the icon of optimism and happiness in the everyday life of Filipinos. The tansans symbolize the generations of stories of optimism in the gravest obstacles as well as the most memorable moments of sharing, bonding and coming together.ʉ۬
