Caltex launches new National Day campaign from Y&R Singapore

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, AUGUST 10, 2012: To celebrate Singapore’s 47th birthday, Caltex launched a new National Day campaign – “The Fuel Democracy” – to give drivers everywhere a reason to celebrate. 
 
According to Juliana Loh, brand manager at Caltex, “The promotion embodies Caltex’s brand philosophy ‘Enjoy the journey’ – Singapore’s journey to independence and a fun cause that all drivers in Singapore can rally around for everyone’s benefit.”
 
The campaign empowers drivers to influence the fuel discount to be given only on National Day, August 9, by simply liking the Caltex Singapore Facebook page – which can drive fuel prices down. 
 
Response to the campaign has been immense and the targeted increase of fans on Caltex Singapore Facebook page has already been met – way ahead of the August 8 deadline.
 
“The Fuel Democracy campaign lets Singaporeans enjoy the nation’s journey on the road to independence. It allows consumers to see the difference they can make when they engage with the brand,” Farokh Madon, chief creative officer of Y&R Singapore added.
