ADFEST returns to Pattaya in 2012

ASIA-PACIFIC – SEPTEMBER 2011: The organizers of the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (ADFEST) have announced that the festival will return to its old home, Pattaya, for next year’s festival. After two years away—2010 marred by the Bangkok riots followed by the move to Phuket in 2011—ADFEST will be held on March 18 to 20, 2012 at the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH), Royal Cliff Beach Resort, Pattaya, Thailand.

Themed “Fast Forward”, ADFEST 2012 will zoom through the increasing speed of change and transformation in the Asia-Pacific region and the world. The festival is expected to accommodate more delegates than the 2011 festival and be more manageable for the non-profit show’s organizers.

"In coming to our decision, we took into account the feedback from delegates, location, venue capacity, overall cost and organisational logistics," shares ADFEST’s Jimmy Lam. "Our poll of delegates at the end of ADFEST 2011 told us that people enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, easy networking and change of location to Phuket."

However, the limited capacity of the Phuket venue made delegates feel it was overcrowded. Lam agrees, "From the organizer’s viewpoint, it was more difficult to achieve the standards that we set for ourselves and it would be difficult to accommodate any increase in delegates in the future."

Lam also revealed that there will be changes as a result of delegates’ feedback in Phuket, which will be announced later on.

"We are looking forward to welcoming all to exchange ideas and experiences, enjoy the company of old friends and making new ones in a very relaxed and friendly environment where everything is under one roof," concludes Lam.
