Starcom MediaVest Group names new CEO for Greater China

Shanghai – As part of Starcom MediaVest Group’s (SMG) continued investment in the region, the company announced a significant appointment to its leadership team in Asia. 

Bertilla Teo, currently Chief Executive Officer for Mediaedge:cia North Asia, will be joining the SMG network as Chief Executive Officer for Greater China. Teo will report to Andrew Swinand, President, Global Operations for SMG and yet to be named VivaKi Country Chair for Greater China. 

Paul Maher, the current CEO of North Asia for SMG, will vacate this role at the end of 2009, and will transition to a regional client service role.  Teo will assume her new role at SMG officially on January 1, 2010.

At SMG, Bertilla will be based in Shanghai, overseeing the company’s strategy for central client management and development of global client assignments including Li Ning, P&G, Coca-Cola and Samsung.  She will also have a pivotal role in helping to realize SMG’s Agency of the Future vision, with China being earmarked as a pilot market for incubating one of the group’s Human Experiences Centres in 2010.
