During the awarding ceremonies, PAGEONE won the Gold Standard Award for Digital Communications for its entry, “Coping with Youth Depression through Digital Avatars”. The Gold Standard Award for Digital Communications identifies excellence in the creative use of digital channels to achieve communications, public relations or corporate affairs goals.

This campaign developed digital personalities –Avatars – and channels to act as surrogate peers, family, friends, and overall confidante to those people who have expressed depression in the various social media channels of PAGEONE Media. With the help of trained volunteer counsellors, who regularly respond to teenagers, the campaign was able to reach out to 10 teenagers. This Digital Avatar program already won Platinum Award – the best of the best award among PR tools submitted in past Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.

PAGEONE with its client the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) also won the Gold Standard Award for Corporate Citizenship (Community Relations) for its entry, “Baslay Coffee: Brewing Better Life for Kaingeros”. The Gold Standard Award for Corporate Citizenship (Community Relations) recognizes the relationship that a company or organization has with the people who live in the area in which it operates or are affected by its business. It recognizes a license to operate, through building positive and sustainable relationships with key individuals, groups and organizations. The award is given to those programs that demonstrate sensitivity to community concerns and issues through the design and implementation of community programs.

The Baslay Coffee Program aimed to energize Dauin kaingeros by providing them with more sustainable, eco-friendly livelihoods than the traditional but destructive agricultural methods. Through a grassroots information and education communications campaign on environmental conservation and technical, livelihood and social development on coffee farming, the program has successfully trained 123 former kaingeros to be members of the Baslay Farmers Association, thus saving 220 hectares of forest land from destruction.

This program already won the Grand Anvil Award – the most prestigious award in this year’s Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.
