Awards: Wunderman Thompson Philippines wins big in Tangrams Asia and ADFEST 2021

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Wunderman Thompson PH continues to represent the country in two of Asia’s most prestigious awards.

The Tangrams Strategy and Effectiveness Awards recognizes excellence in creative marketing campaigns that deliver business results. Wunderman Thompson Philippines took home the country’s lone Gold for Digital Strategy with its “A Star Wars Experience for All” campaign for Globe Telecom. The campaign was launched to support the opening of the final installment of the much-loved franchise, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” back in December 2019.

Touted as the most celebrated regional creative festival, Adfest not only raises the standard of creative excellence in the region but also puts the uniqueness of local culture in the spotlight. Only two agencies from the Philippines were shortlisted for this year’s show, and Wunderman Thompson PH took home the elusive Bronze for Print and Outdoor Craft with its #SuitsForHeroes fund-raising campaign for Comic Odyssey which aims to help purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for Filipino health front liners.


Both Tangrams and Adfest review and evaluate entries from all over the region against very stringent criteria which makes this recognition even more meaningful for the agency, and Wunderman Thompson PH’s Executive Creative Director Brandie Tan attests to this: I had the privilege to judge in Adfest this year and experienced firsthand the high standards expected out of the Lotus winners. Even if Adfest was a creative show and Tangrams was an effectiveness one, both juries were unified in looking for work of the same mold–work that made significant impact as well as fresh well-crafted work. To have work among the best of the best in Asia Pacific in originality, crafting, effectivity, and significance is an honor.
