Leo Burnett, WWF Philippines shows Earth Hour enchanting nightlife

MANILA, MARCH 15, 2013 – World Wide Fund for Nature-Philippines gears up for Earth Hour 2013, drumming up participation with a TV spot done by Leo Burnett Manila.

Aptly titled ‘Nightlife’, the 45-second spot for this year’s Earth Hour celebration, shows an enchanting, Tim Burton-like world in a TV spot of what takes place when all city lights are turned off, leaving no trace of the stresses of modern life and allowing nature to come alive in all its glory.

The Philippines has earned the “Earth Hour Hero Country” title after being recognized as the country with the most number of supporters since 2009. This year, the organizers are gearing up for the country’s fifth consecutive first-place finish.

The Philippines will join 151 other countries (out of the world’s 196 countries) in the fight against global warming on March 23, 2013, starting at 8:30 pm until 9:30 pm.

However, WWF Philippines urges Filipinos to go beyond the hour and make a difference through simple acts such as making the effort to unplug appliances and changing fluorescent lights to environment-friendly LED versions.

WWF Philippines officially kicked off calls for participation for Earth Hour 2013 on February 27 which was attended by WWF Philippines national ambassadors: fitness enthusiast Rovilson Fernandez, extreme sports extraordinare Marc Nelson and Filipina equestrienne and actress Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski.
