Confusion and concern gripped the Jarakay Tribe of Survivor Philippines as John Lopez collapsed without warning at camp.
Lopez, an auto mechanic moonlighting as a model, suddenly fell to the ground while tending to a bonfire. Faced with Lopez’s stiffening condition, tribe members had no choice but to request emergency medical attention for their stricken teammate. The medical rescue team brought Lopez from Koh Taurtao island to the nearest hospital in Satun, Thailand.
Rules of the reality TV show allows a castaway only 24 hours off the island for any medical emergency. Lopez faces disqualification should he require treatment beyond the grace period.
The Jarakay Tribe members, still anxious about Lopez’s unexplained collapse, nonetheless have to weigh the outcome of partnerships already forming with Lopez that might jeopardize the tribe.
