AWARD winners announced

ASIA-PACIFIC – AUSTRALIA, MARCH 25, 2013 – The winners of the 34th annual AWARD Awards have been announced in a celebration of the most outstanding creative communications work in the Asia Pacific region. A total of 12 gold awards were presented at this year’s ceremony – the culmination of the three-day 2013 Circus festival of Commercial Creativity.

It was a successful evening for Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Shanghai, becoming a four-time gold winner for its ‘Cokehands’ campaign, while Colenso BBDO & Finch and George Patterson Y&R Melbourne were awarded two gold trophies each. Receiving recognition for the ‘Beer Chase’ campaign in the Film and Video category, gold was presented to Clemenger BBDO Melbourne. The DDB Group Sydney also received gold in the Print category for the ‘Park Assist Technology’ campaign, while Finch – 37 Degrees was awarded gold for its campaign ‘37 Degrees Glasses’.

The last of the gold awards was given to WhybinTBWA Sydney for the ‘NRMA – Car Creation’ campaign in the Digital category, which also received the title of Best in Show.

Chairman of judging, JWT’s Lo Sheung Yan, who awarded Best in Show, said: "In today’s award judging room, it’s difficult to appreciate a campaign with a big idea which carries layers of executions and depths in craftsmanships. In order to make sure you see the difference their product offers, not in a cold and mechanical manner but an engaging and artistic way, the creative team has used many different small parts to show you the big picture."
Alongside their campaign achievements, WhybinTBWA Sydney was also appointed Agency of the Year, while both BBDO and Revolver/Will O’Rourke held on to their titles of Network of the Year, and Production Company of the Year respectively for the second year in a row. The final title of Client of the Year went to the Australian Deference Force.

AWARD Chairman Craig Davis said: “We are thrilled to provide a platform through which so much outstanding creative work can be recognized – the showcase has been inspirational for all of us, and important recognition for all our finalists.”

Concluding the presentation, The Campaign Palace was inducted in the AWARD Hall of Fame.
