DDB is Network of the Year at Eurobest 2011

GLOBAL  – DECEMBER 2011: Almost 400 winners were chosen from over 4800 entries at the Eurobest Awards held at the São Luiz Theatre in Lisbon, Portugal. The ceremony ended the Eurobest Festival which celebrates the work from the continent. 
 
Germany led the country tallies with 103 trophies, followed by France with 52, Sweden with 41, Belgium with 36, followed closely by the United Kingdom with 33.
 
DDB was named Network of the Year; Marcel Paris was presented with the Agency of the Year Title. The Interactive Agency of the Year went to Tribal DDB Amsterdam. DDB Stockholm received the Outdoor Grand Prix for “The Winter Adjusted Offer” for Volkswagen Sweden.
 
The recipients of the Eurobest 2011 Advertiser of the Year award, Kandia Dulce Promo & Activation, repeated its Cannes victory with the Promo & Activation for its nationalistic “American Rom” campaign by McCann Erickson Bucharest.

It was also a good year for Heineken, with two Grands Prix: “ The Legendary Making of the Date” by Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam in Film and the football app “Heineken Star Player” by AKQA London in Mobile. London further showed off its leadership  in new media with the Hypernaked London’s Interactive Grand Prix” for Nokia “Push Snowboarding”.
 
Belgium’s Mortierbrigade Brussels was awarded the Radio Grand Prix for its Radio 1 commercials “AC/DC”, “Joe Cocker” and “What a Wonderful World”. 
 
France claimed dominance in execution with the Grands Prix for Design and Craft for Havas Suresnes’ “Not Your Everyday Everyday” house brand for supermarket chain Monoprix and the Fred & Farid Paris “Stunt” series, part of Wrangler’s “We are Animals” campaign.
 
The PR Grand Prix was given to Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett Zürich for “Holidays Without Internet” for Switzerland Tourism.  TRY/APT Oslo was honored with the Media Grand Prix for “Soon to be World Famous” for client Solo/Ringnes. No Grand Prix were awarded in the Direct, Integrated or Print sections.
 
In the Young Creatives competition, Italy took Gold with the team from Norway coming in second and Russia in third.
 
After the awarding, delegates flocked to the Eurobest After Party at Baixa/Chiado PT Bluestation, one of Lisbon’s metro stations.
