Sweetshop Director Simon Cracknell launches new commercial for DBS to celebrate Chinese New Year

Sweetshop’s Simon Cracknell has directed a new commercial for DBS from TSLA Singapore, celebrating the Chinese New Year tradition of gifting Ang Bao money envelopes.

This bright and light-hearted spot sees a group of friends getting exactly ‘huat’ they wish for. Receiving their envelopes and scanning their QR codes, they celebrate by shouting the well-known greeting, their joy and animation spreading quickly, as characters in their surroundings – including decorative figurines, people in photographs and pet fish – join in. 

Proving there’s no need to wait in line for clean, crisp new notes, customers using DBS PayLah can send and receive money for their friends and relatives this Chinese New Year, and be in with a chance of winning S$8888 when they give or receive the most QR Ang Baos / eAng Boas, or be one of 10 daily winners of S$188.
