JWT Beijing Regains China Unicom

Beijing – JWT Beijing won part of China Unicom’s business through a pitch against several other international agencies. This assignment includes the integrated marketing communication for part of China Unicom’s 3G business. 

China Unicom was one of JWT Beijing’s major clients a couple years ago. Regaining their business is recognition of JWT’s strategic planning capability, creative skills, client services standard as well as the capabilities of the China Unicom’s top management team.

In 2009, JWT Beijing continued to grow even in the tough environment while extending their width and depth of the cooperation with their current key clients, such as Yili group, Nokia, COFCO . Meanwhile, they have bagged COFCO meat, Baixiang Group (instant noodles), Jasonwood (denim fashion brand) and a few other new businesses.

In the creative aspect, the Nokia’s Bruce Lee campaign swooshed major creative awards from local, regional to international ad festivals, including Silver Lion in Cannes, Gold Pencil in One Show, Gold in Spikes and Grand Prix in China 4A among others.

JWT Beijing has strengthened their top management team in 2009. Andy Xu, the Group Account Director of Local Business was promoted to Deputy General Manager; Polly Chu, the ECD was promoted to Chief Creative Office of Beijing, Rich Shiue, a experienced Creative Director from JWT Taipei transferred and succeed the position as ECD Beijing. Plus, Lo Sheungyan (Mayan), ECD of JWT North East Asia was appointed a new role as China Chairman in mid 2009, over seeing China’s business including Beijing, which is another positive push for the business and creative of Beijing.
