Make your PC greener with HP

For all the non-Mac users out there: turn off your idle PCs and help save Mother Earth.

Printer maker HP has just launched “Power To Change”, a free, downloadable desktop widget that tracks the cumulative energy savings associated with turning off idle PCs. HP estimates that if 100,000 users shut down their work computers at the end of each day, energy savings could total to more than 2,680 kilowatt-hours(1) and carbon emissions reductions could total to over 3,500 pounds per day (2). That’s about 105 cars or more off the road each day.  By downloading the widget, users will also be able to watch and explore the energy savings the campaign generates worldwide.

The campaign is launching in five languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. To download the widget for free, visit www.hp.com/powertochange.
