MANILA – It would appear that a lot of people want to share a Coke with ViceGanda.

In a slightly strange turn of events, the comedian’s unique name has landed on the list of the next 50 names to be printed on Coke bottles, which will be distributed commercially as part of the brand’s viral Share a Coke campaign.

The new names were determined by a public online vote, which ran from July 7 to August 15.

In the middle of the voting period, Vice was a clear leader, gaining majority of the votes.

Thankfully for the rest of the population not named ViceGanda, more common Filipino names also made the list, for instance, Miguel, Carla, Erika, and Enzo.

A local rollout of a global campaign that launched in Australia in 2011, Share a Coke came to the Philippines in July 2014.

The campaign continues to grab attention both online and offline, recently releasing an online video ‘The Happiest Thank You’, which features people thanking others through personalized bottles.

Share a Coke launched with over 200 available names, including popular Pinoy nicknames such as Boy, Dong, and Noy, as well as terms of endearment like Pare, Mare, ‘Tay, and Kuya. The campaign also allows fans to share with significant people in their lives, from officemates to crushes.
