BBDO/Proximity Malaysia puts Malaysia on the map

Kuala Lumpur – Proving that it pays to benchmark against world-class advertising agencies, BBDO/Proximity Malaysia is named the eighth most awarded individual agency in the world, with the world’s top five creatives by The Big Won Report.

The Big Won Report is an international register that gauges the performance of agencies according to the quantity and quality of awards won across all marketing disciplines.

BBDO/Proximity Malaysia’s top rankings ultimately paved its way to become the No. 1 agency in Malaysia.  In return, the agency has helped put Malaysia on the map as the eighth highest performing country in the Press, Poster & TV realms.

"The Big Won Report ranking is an excellent piece of news to start the year with," said BBDO/Proximity Malaysia’s group chief executive Jennifer Chan. "While we are of the belief that our performance is only as good as our best client, the Big Won Report ranking further attests to the fact that benchmarking ourselves against the best will only reap sweeter success. We draw our strength from an ambition to constantly out do our best performance — a mantra that is prolific within the BBDO network," added Chan.

BBDO Worldwide has won The Big Won for the third year in a row.  The agency has also clinched many other distinctions, among them three of the top ten most recognized multimedia creative campaigns, as well as plus four of the top ten most awarded direct campaigns.

But overall, Chan said the BBDO/Proximity team is not only thrilled with their collective success, but the many personal ones as well. Former Chief Creative Officer Ronald Ng and current Executive Creative Director Mun Tuck Wai have not only led the agency to a string of global successes, they have also clinched top rankings.

Ng is ranked not only fourth in the world for said position, but the number one copywriter globally. He is now the Executive Vice President of BBDO New York. While top worldwide Art Director Mun, was also pegged second best international Creative Director in the world. Mun is also responsible for leading a team that tied for second in the Big Won Report’s selection of most awarded art directors.  Kevin Le’s placement as second most awarded copywriter, establishes BBDO Proximity Malaysia as housing the best number one and number two, copywriters and art directors on the globe.

Further to that, BBDO/Proximity Malaysia’s "Two Worlds" campaign for Jeep claimed top ranking as one of the top ten most awarded creative campaigns overall. It is the number one most awarded poster campaign and ranked in the top three most awarded print campaigns in the world. This eminent achievement came just a month after it was named The Gunn Report’s most awarded print campaign last year.
