Lakihan Mo Logo 11: One year older and better than ever

PHILIPPINES, JANUARY 30, 2011 – It was a night of music, fun and games at Casa Nami last January 27 when Lakihan Mo Logo celebrated its eleventh gig and first year anniversary. The event featured agency bands Martin McFly, Butchercons, and Tumakas ang Mga Alipin; with special performances by Billy Gaga, Itchyworms, Tanya Markova, Morning Glory with Yeng Constantino, and Julien.

Lakihan Mo Logo is the brainchild of Herbert Hernandez, Assistant Creative Director of DM9JaymeSyfu, who also moonlights as the guitarist of Moonstar88.

“Originally it was just to have people from advertising relax. The nature of advertising is very stressful; we know we need an outlet. This is our outlet so we can relax and entertain those who want to relax,” said Herbert.

As the gig nights continued every month, Herbert tied up with production houses and started inviting special guest bands. Local OPM acts such as Kamikaze, Parokya ni Edgar, Sugarfree, and other major bands have played at previous gig nights.

Lakihan Mo Logo is evolving into an event that gives back. Proceeds of the Lakihan Mo Logo event in December successfully raised P100,000 for the benefit of Cribs Foundation.

The anniversary night was a star-studded event, with attendees such as actor-model Derek Ramsay, Viva Hot Babes Katya and Sarah, members of 6cyclemind, and Merlee Cruz-Jayme and Alex Syfu of DM9 JaymeSyfu and DDB Philippines. The night was hosted by rapper Syke and director Ramon Bautista.

For some people, music is life. For people in the ad industry, Herbert believes there’s more to life in the music: “You need this! If you only do advertising, you’ll burn out. That’s why so many people quit. You can have fun, and you can still work well, and you can make other people happy.”
