Events: Verizon Media empowers audiences to Get in the Driver’s Seat on the Main Stage at Cannes Lions 2021

SINGAPORE — Verizon Media, the global media technology company that reaches millions of people around the world through Yahoo and other leading brands, will be on the main stage at Cannes Lions 2021 with a keynote session “High Performance to Hyper Creativity—Sport’s Love Affair with Emerging Technology.”

Verizon Media CEO Guru Gowrappan will be joined by two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso, as well as Alpine Racing CEO Laurent Rossi and Scott Anya, VP of the Image Solutions Business at Canon to demonstrate how the power of the new innovations in technology can bring creative storytelling to life through sport. 

Joining forces with Alpine Racing on the main stage, Verizon Media will showcase how the future of sporting events can be unlocked with immersive XR technology and 5G connectivity – supercharging the fan experience through rich, real-time, and immersive experiences. The already growing appetite for virtual event counterparts has been accelerated as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic – with emerging technologies helping to cater for the increased demand for online events within sport, while also elevating offline experiences in the future.

    • Tech has unlocked a whole new space for creative storytelling that truly connects people to the world around them. During this talk, you can find out how innovative tech is enabling the future of sports and bringing fans closer to the game than ever before. The event will commence at 7AM ET/ 12PM BST and will be available on-demand immediately after
