WoodWing’s tablet publishing solution CDS Go! taps small publisher market

GLOBAL – ZAANDAM, THE NETHERLANDS, JUNE 2011 – WoodWing´s Tablet Publishing Solution expands its Content Delivery Service with CDS Go! packages aimed at starters, smaller publishers and agencies.

In general, the distribution of digital content can be charged either on the basis of the data traffic or on the number of downloads. Models based on traffic tend to be more attractive for publishers distributing higher volumes.

The new Go! Packages, unlike the existing service packages that support traffic-based billing, provides a defined number of downloads: 500 downloads for the CDS Go! S package and 2,000 downloads for the CDS Go! M. Additional downloads may be purchased when the cap is exceeded.

"WoodWing’s CDS is proving itself day-in and day-out,” said Hans Janssen, CEO of WoodWing. “Every two seconds, a publication is downloaded to a tablet using this service. We have been able to create a worldwide distribution network that delivers the best possible download performance. Adding CDS Go! to the portfolio enables every organization, small and large, to make use of this infrastructure.”

Content stored on the CDS is 100 percent cross-platform, enabling publishers to easily distribute their tablet editions to Apple´s iPad, HP’s TouchPad, RIM´s Playbook as well as to Samsung´s Galaxy Tabs and other Android-based devices. It also provides publishers with an easy-to-use Web interface, enabling them to send push notifications to readers, manage subscriptions, and upload tablet content with little technical expertise needed.

WoodWing´s Content Delivery Service delivers more than 1.5 million downloads per month. A list of tablet apps created with WoodWing’s Tablet Publishing Solution is available at www.woodwing.com/en/digital-magazine/tablet-gallery.
