From gripping stories and new perspectives that embody what a brand stands for to new fun ways people can engage with a brand, here are campaigns that caught adobo Magazine’s eye this week:

Basketball has never been bigger

One thing you can count on in the Philippines is that basketball will always hold a special place in Filipinos’ hearts. So, what better way to express that big love for the sport than to transform the iconic Mall of Asia globe into a giant, lit-up basketball for this year’s 2023 FIBA World Cup? This collaborative effort from Smart and Gigil quickly became a hard-to-miss, viral spectacle — the perfect way to kick off FIBA.


Every square meter counts if you let it

Not every home is the lavishly spacious abode one dreams of. However, with the help of the right tools and materials, anyone can turn even the smallest rooms into a space full of creativity and ideas. In this quirky campaign by HeimatTBWA\, Hornbach shows, through a vertical journey, that every single square meter is brimming with potential just waiting for you to fulfill it and bring that magic to life.

Taste the world with Lay’s new flavors

You don’t need to travel the seas to get a taste of what the world has to offer. In this series of ads by BBDO Guerrero, just opening a bag of Lay’s new flavors will get you to that destination. From a live K-pop performance in a girl’s bedroom the moment she opens a bag of the spicy Taste of Korea Lay’s to a classic All-American football game coming alive at the airport as someone digs into the tomato ketchup Taste of America bag, the spots show you that, with Lay’s, the world is at your fingertips.

A journey of love and legacy through decades

For this year’s Merdeka and Malaysia Day, MBCS created an epic film that is both a love letter to the country and an homage to Petronas’ journey throughout the decades. The spot, titled Rai, brings us back to the ‘70s and ‘80s and the booming excitement that those eras brought about, following small-town Amir as he navigates his career and relationships in the big city amid the rapidly changing Malaysia

How close can you get to the action?

A couple finds themselves atop an interrogation table in a heated scene of the action thriller that they’re watching. A super fan ends up on the very stage where their rockstar idol is performing in a concert being streamed. A foodie takes on the role of a turkey about to be stuffed in a culinary show. These scenarios from FACTORY01 and MullenLowe Singapore, although hilariously bizarre, paint the picture of how close you’ll feel to what you’re watching via the immersive viewing experience brought to you by PRISM+’s HD products.
