Two creative appointments at JWT Singapore

ASIA-PACIFIC – SINGAPORE, MAY 2011—JWT Singapore beefs up its creative team, bringing in Parixit (Parx) Bhattacharya as Creative Director and promoting Minzie Liyu to the role of Associate Creative Director.

As Creative Director at JWT Singapore, Parx will be tasked with helping raise the office’s integrated creative offering, placing a strong focus on the craft of copywriting. He will work closely with Jun Fukawa, JWT Singapore CCO to lead on local and global projects for HSBC and Sunsilk.

Parx joins JWT from Y&R Dubai where most recently his work for Stopache ‘Splitting Headaches’ was awarded the Design Grand Prix at this year’s Dubai Lynx and a Silver in Outdoor at the same show. The work was also honored with a Bronze Lion at Cannes 2010, just one of the three Lions Parx won in 2010, making him the first copywriter in the Middle East to win three Cannes Lions in the same year.

“Parx is a very talented copywriter and knows his craft,” said Fukawa. “What’s more, he has the mindset and the passion to create fully integrated, transmedia ideas and the ability to bring this thinking to our overall creative concept and delivery processes.”

Minzie Liyu has been contributing his creative skills to JWT Singapore for the past three years where his ideas have been behind award-winning campaigns including SilkAir, ‘Cinema Takeover’ and Berocca, ‘Office is a Jungle.’ The promotion to Associate Creative Director sees Minzie taking on additional brands in the agency’s roster, including regional account, Sunsilk where he will work closely with Fukawa and Parx.

Angus Fraser, Managing Director, JWT Singapore stated, “We’ve been investing steadily in our creative talent over the past year. With Minzie’s knowledge of the JWT culture coupled with his skill in delivering consistently insightful ideas for our clients’ brands and Parx’s fresh perspective and copywriting mastery, they are proving to be an integral part of our continued efforts to drive the next generation of new ideas and innovation.”
