Berlin School Announces a New Leadership Team

‘Continuity’ with ‘Innovation’ – two words that sum up the strategic direction to propel the Berlin School of Creative Leadership towards a sustainable and creative future.

‘Continuity’ is expressed in our absolute mission to turn great creative minds into great creative leaders through a distinctive approach, and an output-oriented curriculum where academics and practitioners work side by side; as well as preserving the legacy principles of Creative Business Leadership they have built over the years. ‘Innovation’ will be pursued to honor and examine more broadly and cohesively, both in their EMBA and Executive Education programs, the relationship between human skills, leadership, creativity, well-being and the growing (and often disruptive) role of digital, data and technology.

Michael Conrad and Susann Schronen are excited to announce the new leadership team and corporate governance developments in 2019:

  • Jose Alcaraz joins the Berlin School as Faculty and Academic Director. With more than 15 years of academic experience, Jose brings a global outlook from his various leading roles at Business Schools in Barcelona (his home town), Shanghai, Dubai, Santo Domingo, Australia and Germany. His nuanced approach combines academic insight with broad experience to encompass the multi-faceted nature of leadership.
  • Marília Lobo assumes a new role as Director of Strategy and Learning Innovation. Marília established and grew her own communication agency for 11 years in São Paulo (her home town) and joined the Berlin School team in October, 2017 to initiate the school’s community and content platform ‘Home of Creative Business Leadership’. She is also the Executive MBA alumna. With her entrepreneurial view and working experience within the creative industries, her mission is to nurture the interplay between academic and business perspectives.
  • In order to ensure non-binding, strategic advice and dynamic perspectives to the Leadership Team, in addition to the existing Board of Directors, a Board of Advisors made up of academic and industry experts is being formed. For their 2019 mandate, David Slocum (Former Faculty Director of the Berlin School), and Faculty Members Paul Verdin, Olivier Tabatoni, and Robert Weisz will be sitting as Academic Advisors. They also welcome Gerhard Blechinger as the newest addition to our Board of Directors.

While the Berlin School of Creative Leadership enters 2019, they recognize David Slocum for more than 10 years of strategic and resourceful leadership. And Stuart Hardy (former Executive Education Director) for his dedicated service to the school.
